Start with why the E WOF is needed
An E WOF may be requested for different reasons and the scope can vary with the vessel and the request. Bring the marina, insurer, broker or buyer requirement into the conversation so the right inspection can be discussed.
Do not guess at the scope from a general online description. Share the vessel information and the requirement you have been given.
What to have ready
You do not need to diagnose anything first. Useful details include the vessel type, approximate length, marina or berth location, and any paperwork or requirement you have received.
- The vessel type and approximate length
- Where the vessel is berthed or moored
- Who has asked for the E WOF
- What they have asked you to provide
- Any preferred timing or deadline
E WOF or pre-purchase inspection?
An E WOF and a pre-purchase electrical inspection are different conversations. An E WOF is usually connected to a compliance requirement. A pre-purchase inspection is a buying decision.
Pre-purchase electrical inspections are not currently promoted as a confirmed service. If you are buying a vessel and need the electrical side checked, describe what you need and Maritime Electrical can confirm whether it can help.
How to arrange it
Send the vessel details and the requirement, or call if the question is easier to explain in conversation. The visit and any required scope are confirmed after the details have been discussed.
